Mobile Madness

I was riding on the train

It was raining sheets of rain

I was thinking ‘bout my date tonight

When my little mobile ring

I was walking down the street

Stopped to get a bite to eat

Folks were talking on their mobiles

As I went to grab a seat

I was shopping in the store

Had to get some bread and more

When I heard a ringing sound

And I had to turn around

I was getting on the bus

Everyone was in a rush

Had their mobile phones in hand

And their fingers at the touch

I was at the doctor’s office

But before he got to me

He was talking on his mobile

Making plans for Tripoli

I was sitting in the classroom

I was trying to concentrate

When my mobile started ringing

And the teacher got irate

I was working on the job

It was really not so hard

So I stopped with all the detail

And logged in to check my email

I was lying on the beach

Had my mobile phone in reach

Just like everybody else

I had calls to make myself

I was sitting in the kitchen

About to do my dinner thing

When I opened up the microwave

And heard my mobile ring

I was in a working meeting

When a colleague of mine said

Our mobile phones

Are tools of trade

That’s how we stay ahead

Every time I turn around

I hear another ring

My phone your phone

Their phone for sure

The sound is not the same

But on alert

We reach for ours

Just in case you see

We hate to miss

That soundof bliss

Saying someone’s calling me

SMS

SMS

It comes with text

For saying it

Short and sweet

You can get it

On your mobile phone

When you're working

Or when you're sleep

It can save you time

When you can't get through

and you're bound

To get a reply

Sometimes the response

Will make you laugh

But it can also

Make you sigh

SMS

It's all a part

Of the bold new

Wireless scene

Just grab your handheld

And hold it close

While looking at the screen

The message is up

The line is clear

And now you can

Make that call

We're on the road

With voice and text

It's the future after all

My Handy

My phone my phone

My mobile phone

It rings consistently

I'm in the car

I'm on the run

I'm talking endlessly

Oh no oh no

My batter's up

I'll call you back

In time

I'll have to wait

And contemplate

Till I get back online

I love my phone

My mobile phone

It always goes with me

I take it with me

To and fro

Over land and over sea

So if you want to reach me

Just ring my favorite tone

I'll press OK and beam you in

On my handy mobile phone

The Spot

They're rounding up the lot

It's either do or not

They've got to get

The market share

They've got to hit the spot

So deals are made

And systems tweaked

To take them to the top

They find the bread

The costs are spread

They try to hit the spot

Now let's be clear

The spot is you

And must be diagnosed

The question is the service

And who will give the most

We will we wlll we will

They say

Just come and hear our line

We'll let you ring

And email Jane

And prepay all the time

What About You

 I'm sitting here thinking
What about you
Today's another illusion
We all keep going through

And what about the daydream
Is it still a fact
Or just some long lost fancy
Forgotten in the act

You know thoughts are things
We all create
They penetrate our minds
They lay in wait
Then surface
And often still us blind

So accentuate the positive
And keep that thought stream poised
For there's nothing more disturbing
Than a mind
That's filled with noise

I'm just sitting here thinking
What about you
Today's another illusion
We all keep going through

Word of Mouth in Motion

So where do you want to go now?

Remember when Microsoft asked the question some years ago in its Windows advertising campaign, 'where do you want to go today?' Well, a lot has changed since then.Today, it's more about where do you want to go now? Smartphones rule; and increasingly, so do consumers. You have a weapon in your hands and it's full of ammunition. And you should be using it to its full effect. Smartphones are the fastest growing mobile device in the world. 40 percent of all cellphones sold in the 3rd quarter of this year, worldwide, were smartphones according to the Ericsson Mobility Report 2012.

The changing face of customer service

With the increase in texting and location based marketing consumers are in a better position to experience more and better deals when they shop. We can opt in or out of coupon offers and quick response (QR) codes. There are increasing opportunities to get better bargains for just passing by or dropping into a business. Consumers can exercise more control and relate information about a business or service (both good and bad) to friends and family instantly. Businesses are becoming increasingly conscious of how fast word of mouth gets around.

And many of them are going out of their way to accommodate folks with incentives received through their smartphones.

The number of 'Apps' for smartphones are also on the increase and there are some great Apps that you can download for free or for very low cost. We're not sitting behind PCs as much. We are mobile with smartphones and tablets.
